Katherine S. Dreier – a Networker on the Move

In 1926, the association ‘Société Anonyme, Inc.’ organised the influential ‘International Exhibition of Modern Art’ at the Brooklyn Museum. The exhibition featured works by over 100 artists and was compiled in a catalogue with brief biographies. Both the exhibition and the catalogue are based on the frequent travel activities of the artist and collector Katherine S. Dreier's. Her global networking contributed significantly to the reception of the avant-gardes in the USA. During her travels, she got to know the majority of the avant-gardes in person or through their works. The travelling activities of the pioneering networker Katherine S. Dreier are illustrated on this map together with the brief biographies from the 1926 catalogue.
